Boks make it four from four in more than one way.

 It was the fourth round of the annual Rugby Championship in 2024. The Boks aimed to secure a perfect record of four wins, while the All Blacks sought to revive their campaign. The stakes were high in this intense battle. South Africa was vying for the Freedom Cup, a trophy they hadn't claimed since 2009.

The match didn't live up to the excitement we had hoped for, as neither team capitalized on the opportunities that arose. As a result, the scoreline stayed at 9-3 in favour of the visitors.

The match's second half began with more vigor as South Africa hit their stride. They managed to score a try via substitute hooker Malcolm Marx after maintaining prolonged pressure on the All Blacks. Referee Matt Carley remained consistent in his decision-making, ensuring fair play on both sides.  

Ultimately, the two tries by the Boks secured their fourth victory in this year's championship and marked a fourth consecutive win against their longstanding rivals. This achievement was last reached in 1949. The final score stood at 18-12 in favour of the Boks. While the match may not have been the most thrilling, securing another win against our archenemies was gratifying.

First, a reflection. In fact, let’s go back to where it all started. 1995, when no one gave South Africa even the finest of chances to win a rugby match let alone a World Cup. And they certainly laid their mark by winning their opening match against then current world champions, Australia. I believe THAT laid the mark for this nation to achieve anything they dream of. SPRINGBOKS' SEASON GETS UNDERWAY  Eight months since becoming the first team in rugby history to win their fourth World Cup title, South Africa got their international season underway with a one-off test against Wales at the home of English rugby, Twickenham. With the match falling outside of World Rugby's international window, several players were not considered. There were also other reasons for omissions such as players from the Vodacom Bulls that were not considered due to their participation in the final of the United Rugby Championship against the Glasgow Warriors.  The match started off quite "normally" with the Springboks kicking off onto Welsh inside Centre Mason Grady after which Wales put up one more phase before debutant Ellis Bevan sent the ball high into the London sky onto Aphelele Fassi. All Blacks tumble in Wellington

 In the second match of round one, the All Blacks faced off against Los Pumas at Sky Stadium in Wellington. It was an exciting match to watch as both sides scored some magnificent tries.  New Zealand raced to a 20 - 8 lead, but only for a short while as Argentina came charging back to only trail by 20 - 15 at halftime. Argentina struck back early in the second half as they led 22 - 20 through a try by number 4 lock, Franco Molina with Santiago Carreras adding the extras.  Damian McKenzie slotted a penalty in the 46th minute to regain the lead. It was literally a kicking contest as both sides exchanged penalties before Mark Tele'a changed through a gap to score a try for the All Blacks and extend their lead to five points.
