South Africa goes 3 out of 3 in this year's TRC with a spectacular win over the old foe.

The match culminated in anticipation since the World Cup final in Paris, marking the 107th encounter between the two rugby giants, South Africa and New Zealand. Both teams entered the fray with victory in their sights. New Zealand aimed to revive their Rugby Championship aspirations and sought retribution against the World Champions, following a harrowing loss in the previous year's RWC final in Paris.

On the other hand, South Africa aimed to maintain the momentum from its two victories in Australia. The match was expected to be highly entertaining, with both teams eager to move the ball and score tries. True to form, New Zealand quickly took a 7-0 lead. In typical South African fashion, they fought back with a penalty and an unconverted try, although Sacha was outplayed by the shot clock. The All Blacks answered with a try, taking a narrow 12-11 lead into the halftime break.

New Zealand swiftly countered with an intercept try after neutralizing Siya Kolisi in an offensive move. However, the Boks stayed calm and earned another penalty, narrowing the score to 19-14. At one point, the All Blacks seemed to have a decisive lead at 27-17 with just under 10 minutes left in the match. Kwagga Smith and Grant Williams clearly had different ideas as they each scored a try, both of which were converted by Feinberg-Mngomezulu.

Ten years had passed since Patrick Lambie's famous last-minute penalty secured the Boks a 27-25 victory over the All Blacks on the same ground. A decade later, on Saturday, history repeated itself. Should they triumph once more in Cape Town next week, it will mark 15 years since such a feat was last achieved. From my perspective, it was an immensely entertaining match, with conditions that were absolutely ideal for rugby. Hopefully, we will witness the same level of intensity in the upcoming match, which promises to be a spectacular event before a sold-out crowd in the Mother City.

For selection time, if I were to choose a team, it might look like this:

Starting XV - 1 to 15: Willie le Roux, Cheslin Kolbe, Damian de Allende, Handré Pollard, Aphelele Fassi, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Cobus Reinach, Kwagga Smith, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Siya Kolisi (captain), Ruan Nortje, Eben Etzebeth, Vincent Koch, Malcolm Marx, Ox Nche.

Substitutes - 16 to 23: Johan Grobbelaar, Gerhard Steenekamp, Frans Malherbe, Marco van Staden, Elrigh Louw, Jasper Wiese, Grant Williams, Jesse Kriel, Makazole Mapimpi.
